Feyenoord zal op korte termijn in gesprek gaan met trainer Giovanni van Bronckhorst om zijn toekomst te bespreken. Analist Aad de Mos denkt dat de Rotterdammers afscheid van hem moeten gaan nemen aan het einde van het seizoen.
Volgens De Mos is vier seizoenen het maximum bij een topclub. “Als ik Jan de Jong zou zijn, dan was het simpel. Ik pak Dick Advocaat en bijvoorbeeld Robin van Persie als assistent, als hij echt trainersambities heeft. Of één van die andere drie”, verwijst de voetbalanalist in Rondo naar Dirk Kuyt, John de Wolf en Henk Fraser. “Dan ben je voor een jaar onder de pannen.”
De Mos zegt dat ‘absoluut’ aan te durven. Mogelijk kan Van Persie of Kuyt dan op termijn doorschuiven, zo oppert Jan van Halst. “Dat weet ik niet”, reageert de voormalig hoofdtrainer. “Ik weet niet of ze dat in de vingers hebben.”
